Flashback Fridays

My flashback today is all about the boys in my life. Since they are on their way for the Elk Hunt it reminded me of some of the other time they have gone hunting together. I love the fact they enjoy the same things as each other and are all about spending time together! I hope this hunt is successful for them!!

Cole's first kill with a bow. . . poor little squirrel!

Cole has always wanted to be "just like his dad" they have so many of the same interests!

We took lots more video of them but with my camcorder so these are their first times up! Way to go kids!!

Slide show from Powell

So we thought we were staying in a double wide trailer (which only turned out to be a single) so we had a theme song for the week hence the song. . . Queen of my double wide trailer by Sammy Kershaw. We laughed when we arived since the song talks about a redwood deck. . . we pull up and bingo we have a redwood deck. We teased the whole week about being trailer trash and which one of us was Queen for a day. We could not have asked for better weather and we were blessed with no problems at all. Good times had by all!!

Lake Powell 2008

We had a great time at Lake Powell. . . lets just say 109 was hot and we were grateful we were surrounded with gorgeous water to jump in and cool off in! We will do this in a few posts. . .

Brett enjoying his time. . .

Flashback Fridays

Since the Olympics started today I wanted to reflect a little on the time we were able to share in that awesome experience.

We had a good time being downtown and enjoy the experience of the Olympics in our home town!

Look how little the kids were. . . crazy how times fly I love that I bought them matching coats maybe that is why we have so many people ask if they are twins

We went ice skating several times at Bud World. At the time Brett was working downtown so we would head down for the day and just hang out and wait for him to get off work and then we spent more time walking around the different areas.

Our family posing with the bobsled team :)

Cole still remembers how heavy this torch was

A Day at the Races

We took the kids and headed up to Wyoming Downs for a little horse racing. The kids were not to sure they really wanted to go but once they got there they had a blast. I told Brett the last time we had gone there I was not old enough to bet. . . so that was just a few years ago right? We went with some friends Jodee, Jason and Sarah, lucky for Madison Jodee was brilliant at picking the horses. Madison won several races with her help! Cole won 7 of the 10 races and then he bet it all on the very last race so needless to say he came home empty handed.

These horses were beautiful we enjoyed watching them race!!

Madison with "one" of her winning tickets

Cole with his winning ticket also. They both bet on the same horse this time around, Well actually they did not bet that would be illegal :)

The horse were amazing I only wish the race would have lasted just a little longer so we could see the horses more. I was amazed at how sweaty the horses were in just a short distance.

One interesting little thing . . . we got gas for 3.84 cheapest we have paid in a long time

Flashback Fridays

Just remembering the good ole day when the kids were little catching fish and cray fish. This was also the year we had Madison's hair in braids when we went to Bear Lake and when we took them out "poof" big hair. Cole has always lived for fishing! As long as the fish are biting he is all about it! We had a lot of fun catching and eathing the cray fish. Not sure if the kids liked playing with them or eating them more? I'm gonna have to say playing with them. It is amazing at how quickly the kids have grown up!
