Flashback Fridays

Flashing back to the 80's is kind of far! My 20 year high school reunion is this weekend for which I am attending. I am not sure why I am going since I do not remember to many people I went to school with. The more I think about it the more I realize I was a loner and was not involved with anything other than my education (which was nothing spectacular either). My kids say I was a "GEEK" hmm I believe they are right, however I do remind them they are a product of me so . . . the joke is on them :)

What's up with the hair?

The Elk Hunt

After 10 days of living out of a tent the boys came home, unfortunately without an elk but they had a great time together. They did see plenty of game none of which was close enough to shoot. Cole had wanted Brett to hunt in a ravine and Brett did not want to because if they did get something in there pulling it out would be a nightmare. Cole did not think it would be a big deal he had no idea how heavy these animals are. I wanted so bad for them to get an elk just so Cole would know his dad is smarter then he thinks! First day of the hunt. . . cold and rainy
waiting for and elk to come his way! This is like the "Where's Waldo" but it's a "Find Cole"I love how well they really do blend inMy husband :)

First day of School

Hallelujah . . . the kids are on their way to school! Wait am I supposed to be excited? I'm probably supposed to be crying but no, I am loving it! They need to be busy, summer went quick and when they weren't busy doing something they just ended up fighting and BORED! I am not looking forward to the usual fight with getting homework done, summer is always nice for that!

My 9th grader Joe Cool :)
He is quite the poser Madison had 7th grade orientation last week which is why she has different clothes on
Madison was not feeling very well this morning you would never know by the pictures!
Off to school

Ladies Night Out

The Ladies at Copper Ridge Dental had a night out. We were sending off an employee who is off on a new adventure. We started the night off with dinner at the Parrothead Island Broiler . . . YUMMY! Had a great time there talking and visiting with each other and then we headed over to FASTKART for some go kart racing. Madison and Abby. . .
Madison, Jane and Kasey
Almost all of us at Copper Ridge, we are missing Kayley

Loved this sign!
I was the enforcer of the tickets. . . I really just wanted a donut :)
Back off Maddy they are way to old for you
I am really going to miss Abby and her laugh!
for those of us who wore flip flops we were lucky enough to use the rental shoes . . . special huh?. . . the girls used the hair nets we had to use on our heads as socks. I'm hoping the fashion catches on and we can be the ones who brought it Madison gearing up to go
Kamie in her special attire We were ready to race!!!!!
After the race everyone was seeing where they came in. . . let's just say I was one of the last cars I was just enjoying the leisurely 13-15 laps around the track. I didn't mind that almost everyone passed me with exception of Jayne. We were kind of like the old people just hanging out. The cars were especially fun when you would go around the corner and feel the car skid!
Madison didn't do bad for not having a drivers license!
We are so "HOT" after the race
Abby wasn't quite ready for the evening to end! Neither were we, Abby is such a fun person to have around and we are going to miss her. Good Luck in Pennsylvania Abby We Love You!

Flashback Fridays

The first day of school is quickly approaching and I just wanted to share my babies first day of Kindergarten . . . Cole is now entering 9th grade and Madison is finally in 7th. I'm glad they are finally on the same schedule. Maddy kept asking me if I was going to cry when she went to school and I finally asked her if she wanted me to. She admitted she "did" want me to cry. She had her orientation day yesterday and no tears were shed. Sorry Maddy if I didn't when you went to kindergarten (when they were so darn cute), I sure wasn't when her attitude and her were headed off to Junior High! :)

both were able to attend the elementary I went to just down the street from Grandma and Grandpa's.

Stalder Family Reunion

For the last 20+ years our family goes somewhere together for a few days. We have gone somewhere different every year. This year we were going to Flaming Gorge but with gas prices we all decided we needed to change our plans. We headed up Spanish Fork Canyon to the Diamond campground. We loved it and had such a great time together! We have such a great family and we always laugh and reminisce! Brett and Cole were not able to attend since they were on their way up the canyon in a different direction to go elk hunting.Madison making campfire eclairs. . .enjoying her efforts With our camping faces on. . . I look lovely, Madison always cute!
these three are inseparable! new names for this trip. . . Doe, Moe and Poe I think they turned into Indians while we were there they even had a call for them to gather
playing games. . . these kids were good! Usually there are 6 kids I am taking pictures of. We call them the sixlets, but since Cole was not there it just wasn't complete. The boys really missed him!
Always together
Grub time, We always eat really well when we camp as a family!
Everyone playing games
Our camp. . . I know you are wondering how I pulled the trailer up with my car. . . Well I had a little help from a nephew who was kind enough to take my trailer up for me. How grateful I was to have my little home up there and I didn't have to tent it!
Hanging out around camp
On our nature hike to see if we could see the moose. . . he was a no show
This was the girls sleeping quarters :) It got a little chilly at night and the wind messed up their hair so I was kind enough to free up some room for them to stay with me.

So I have a funny/embarrassing story to tell. . . One night Madison and I were walking around the loop back to our camp it was very dark and our flashlight was not super powerful when I mentioned to Madison that I have "Bubble Gut" (for those of you who might not know what that is, It's "GAS") any how as I was mentioning this and trying to feel better when 2 of my nephews and Cedar (who is a dog) jump out of the bushes to scare me. I was so scared and very embarrassed but we laughed so hard, they are such cute boys! I think the dog even enjoyed scaring us. Building memories right. . . they will never forget scaring Aunt Jane!

Flashback Fridays

My flashback today is all about the boys in my life. Since they are on their way for the Elk Hunt it reminded me of some of the other time they have gone hunting together. I love the fact they enjoy the same things as each other and are all about spending time together! I hope this hunt is successful for them!!

Cole's first kill with a bow. . . poor little squirrel!

Cole has always wanted to be "just like his dad" they have so many of the same interests!

Slide show from Powell

So we thought we were staying in a double wide trailer (which only turned out to be a single) so we had a theme song for the week hence the song. . . Queen of my double wide trailer by Sammy Kershaw. We laughed when we arived since the song talks about a redwood deck. . . we pull up and bingo we have a redwood deck. We teased the whole week about being trailer trash and which one of us was Queen for a day. We could not have asked for better weather and we were blessed with no problems at all. Good times had by all!!
