Family Reunion - Better late than never! PART 1

Yes I have been really slow at getting these posted. My little brother and his family came into town a few weeks ago which was wonderful. It has been way to long since we have seen the kids!
So here are our adventures from that time. . .

I had a nephew report home on his mission so we all headed to church and then to my sisters for a fabulous dinner!

Shortly after everyone was done eating at Cindy's we hurried over to my mom's for the annual Easter egg hunt.

We spent Monday with the kids at Hollywood Connection and then they came out to our house the next evening for little O's birthday and a little Wii playing. Kirsty (my sis-in-law) told Owen we were going to celebrate his birthday and he asked if we were having cake for him. He has this birthday thing all figured out! I think he enjoys blowing out the candles.

Cole and Owen playing trucks, I miss Cole playing like this

We had a baby shower for a niece as well during the week. Unfortunately we did not get a picture of all of us together, it was the first time all of the girls in my family have been in the same state for years.

I can't get this song out of my head

Really I can not get this song out of my head!!! I do have to say I really like how they sing it but it is interrupting my thought constantly. I can't even say my prayers without the tune popping in my head oops! :)

Brett and I do not watch T.V. very often, but we have been ADDICTED to Dancing with the Stars this season. We are first timers to the show and we love it. It is now our family home evening for the week. Sitting down together 2 times a week, I wouldn't say it was a bad thing! We all have our favorites and they are not the same ones. It will be fun to see the final outcome, but I am not so sure what we will do when it's over?

My favorite happens to be Ty the cowboy. To me he is what the show is really about, completely taking someone with no experience and trying to teach them. He wont win but I enjoy watching how hard he tries!

17 Again

This last weekend we had no phone, no Internet so we headed out to the movies. Our family really enjoyed this movie. Maddy is in LOVE with Zac Efron now and can hardly wait for this movie to come out on DVD. We even ran into my niece and nephew at the movie which was fun to have them with us! After a couple of hours with a comcast technician working the house over we now have phone and Internet and Brett is back to normal. A few days without WOW (World of Warcraft) and he is beside himself :) Actually it turned out to be really good family time and who doesn't love times like that!

Happy Anniversary Husband!

19 Years Legally
18 Years Eternally!
I have lived with this man almost as long as I lived at home. We all know the time we lived with our parents went on forever :) It sure doesn't feel like we have been married that long. I am grateful for such a wonderful husband who also is a fantastic father to our children as well! When we were dating Brett asked me if I could see us when we are old sitting on the porch in our rockers, him smoking a pipe and me doing cross book (cross stitch-he has a nick name for everything). The scenery has changed for our porch some in that time, Brett doesn't have a pipe and I haven't done cross stitch in years but yes I can see us growing old together sitting in our rockers and talking about how proud we are of our kids (and maybe grand kids) and just enjoying spending time together laughing. He still makes me laugh and I love it!

Walking for those who can't

MS Walk 2009

Our cute family!

Kathy's Krew
Our awesome team and family. Grateful so many people will support a good cause!
Our faithful companions! Cedar and Spade had a great day out with the family and were very well behaved! (this was Spades first outing and did fantastic!!)

Hanging out waiting for the walk to start
Probably over 3,000 people showed up to walk

On the walk. . . it went really well! The weather held up nicely for us! I just want my sister to know how much I love her and I am so grateful she is such a trooper. Such an inspiration to me!

Shout out for Brynne. . . Go Utes!

For the last 2 months I have had 2 interns at work. They have been great to have around and I will be sad to see them go but they have to graduate from high school and venture into the real world! :) I loved seeing how uncomfortable they were when I made them assist the doctor the first few times but I really enjoyed seeing them just a short time after that when they were able to assist the doctor without any of my help!

Any how the reason for the shout out is one of the interns tried out for the UTES cheer squad and made it! She had to come and work with us the morning after making the squad so she came dressed appropriately :) (I was going to wear my Utes scrubs but I had already wore them this week) We are so happy for her! GO UTES!!

Brynne said this pose is much easier when she is in the air on some one's hands. Crazy I couldn't even do this on the ground let alone in the air.

Congrats Maddy!

Well Madison had a weird experience this last couple of weeks. She tried out for the dance company for the junior high back in the middle of March. Unfortunately she did not make it. She was not the least bit upset by it though, she has a great attitude! So now here comes the weird. . . this last Monday she calls me as school is getting out screaming with excitement. She had made the dance company after all. Final cuts were done that day and several girls were not able to make the grades and citizenship required. She had a 4.0 this term (BTW-we are very proud-not something I could have done!) which was more than enough to be on the team. We are so proud of her and the effort she puts into everything she does! Our little Dancing Queen :)
